Affiliate disclosure
Tap Water Primer plans to pay for itself partly through affiliate links. If you click certain links to products or services (for example, water filters, softeners, or mail-in water tests) and make a purchase, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price.
Current status
We have no affiliate relationships yet. Merchant links on this site go straight to the merchant’s homepage and earn us nothing. If that changes, we’ll update this page, and those links will be marked rel="sponsored".
How we keep it honest
- Facts about your water come only from your utility, EPA, and other official sources, and are linked.
- We tell you which certification claim to look for, so you can check any product yourself in a certifier’s public listing.
- Utility programs (such as free lead service line replacement or free lead testing) are listed before any commercial option.
- Any page with merchant links shows a short disclosure near the top.
This disclosure follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides.
